Keep it Simple

A big hello on a beautiful spring day!!  I first saw Magnabilities through the company’s Facebook ads. I very seldom wore jewelry so never expected to be selling it but I definitely felt the attraction! Just like the advertising research tells us, it took several ads before I responded. When a special offering showed up – Consultant kit for half-price on January 1st (2016), I bought the $99 kit. Once I received it, I was in love and regretted not buying the $249 kit. For somebody that never wore jewelry, I did a complete about face and started wearing it every day. Now, I don’t feel dressed without it. My students always look to see the different Inserts. I enjoy getting compliments on the pieces from students and others.

It isn’t easy to work extra activities into my schedule so I try to build some “shows” into my regular weekly routine by carrying the Show-On-The-Go with me. When I am in the community after work or on Saturday’s, I try to make a contact. Since my husband is retired, he has coffee or breakfast around town. He brings up the jewelry and tells me to be sure to talk to Liz at the feed store, or visit the lady at flower shop. I am working on a line of Customs for his benevolent organization. My biggest sales occur once each semester when I set up in my classroom for my fellow teachers to shop. They love the convenience!

I try to do at least one vendor event per month. If I can’t find a sponsored event to schedule, there are several towns around that have a Saturday market event where I can set up. At vendor events, I strive to be friendly but not attacking or hovering. I want people to linger and feel welcome. A slide show of corporate ads lets the people see more examples of the pieces with a variety of Inserts – my one table display is limited but the possibilities of jewelry sets are not!   I remind myself to keep it simple.

My main goal with my Magnabilities business is to enjoy the time and fellowship doing activities with a product I love.  Since I was nearing retirement, I had been on the watch for something that would keep me involved socially, would include repeat sales either because they wanted more or used it up, wasn’t heavy to transport, and would be a way I could incorporate some tax deductions with travel.  Hello Magnabilities!  After I fully retire, I hope to incorporate Magnabilities events with more visits to grandchildren, other extended family, and other social or professional functions my husband is involved in.
